Lovely send-off for your dad today Kennyglide. Thanks for inviting us. We've never lost a member before.

Something we did notice, was you haven't aged in 40 odd years! You looked the same when you were 30! How's that work!?
So.... any thoughts on changing our name from WAM (Warwick Aero Modellers) to WAK (Warwick Area Kiters)?

I've started bolting some eklectic motors with propellers to my TV antenna in an attempt to harness electricity and to make them useful for something.
Some people have been captured flying them things without authority at "Barclay Field" recently - much to the mirth of those watching on.

Apparently the "pilot" was not signed in, never asked if he could take off, never put out the red flags to indicate it was a maiden flight, was UN-insured . . . the list goes on and on. He flew over vehicles and pit area and once launched, just casually walked back to shed claiming his "POPIT" on a windy day can stay aloft for hours. It will be very competitive for the next round of the bladder cup. It was so stable one could afford to go for a wee walk whenever . . . claims the pilot.

The "POPIT" is a ramjet parafoil.  It is named as such because of its convenience of transporting and storage. At the end of its flight it is all folded up, tucked into an a small stuff bag - then you pop it in your pocket. It is designed to be clipped on your belt and taken anywhere.

The pilot was forgiven for his failure to comply with WAM's flying regulations (walking away from a tethered device). He was threaten that he will have to pay full flying fees if caught flying it again . . . especially if he wires up an eklectic motor to it and tries free flight with it.

He is well known for his crazy ideas! He needs a big WAK around the earhole!
Thank you so much to all the club members who attended Dads (Keiths) funeral last Thursday. A whole row of seating filled with WAM members really warmed my heart ....Thanks Ken.

I Just want to say that I thought today was a great social day for the club. Good numbers with a variety of aircraft in great flying conditions. The only down side at the time I left was the loss of Kens new acquisition. Don't give up Ken, watching you and Riley fly at Mach 3 is better than taking drugs... or so I'm told. A big welcome to our newest member John and don't forget we have our potential drone club drive on Sunday 8th July. Its just a meet and greet to see what they want and to move forward from there. So come along and support our club. Thanks to Merry for the work she has put into getting this together to date.
We need to start a roster for the  Shopping Centre Display  on Friday 6th July 2018 at the bottom of the escalator.
So far we have Jason and Dennis. I hope to be able to make 2 shifts 8.30am - 12.30pm & 12.30pm - close.
It is the weekend of the drone meeting so hopefully we can attract some people to the meeting.
Anyone know of a 46-55 size aerobatic airframe for sale? Or whole plane at a squeeze ??
I have a 46-55 size aerobatic airframe you could have real cheap. It's already been squeezed though...
This Friday we are having a shopping centre display at the bottom of the escalator in the shopping centre to try and gauge any response for Drone-Quad involvement. We also will be selling raffle tickets and having a RC display. These displays are a necessity when applying for grants and to raise money for the club. We need more members to participate in these events.!!!
